This week at swim safety we practiced saving people. We used a range of floating devices and a rope. We threw these to our friends in the pool and pulled them to safety. To make it more realistic they children in the pool had to wear a t-shirt. We had a lot of fun and tried really hard to get our friends to safety.
This week during computer time we used the website BBC typing, dance mat to practice our keyboard skills. We found this a real challenge. The children showed great perseverance! This might be something we could practice at home.
This week Hayley taught us some colours. We learnt yellow-huang, green-lunch, blue-Lan, black-he, white-Bai and red-Hong. We played a few games to practice and then we coloured in a Chinese dragon in while Hayley used questioning to check our knowledge and understanding of the colour words we learnt. We also did some Tai Chi.
This week we began participating in swim safety lessons at Riverside pool. We will have 1 lesson each week for 8 weeks. This week we were put into groups. We practiced entering the pool safely, floating on our back and front and using a floatation device. Everyone enjoyed themselves!
Today during Discovery Time we grabbed the Brain Boxes and had a fabulous time exploring circuit boards. We were excited to make, sound, light and wind with the equipment. You should of heard the sounds of delight and excitement when the children's circuits worked correctly!
